چکیده

This paper focuses on the development of a haptic recording and modelling system. Currently being evaluated for multiple uses in surgery and manufacturing, this recording system evaluates haptic data captured via a robotic ann coupled with realtime high-resolution load cell. This data is then analysed and validated against previous samples and a generated model before being logged for playback during simulation and training of a human operator. 3D models of point force interactions are created allowing unique visuals to be presented to a user. Primarily designedfor the medicalfield, recorded results ofsofltissue cutting have been presented.

Soft Tissue Modeling Using ANFIS for Training Diagnosis of Breast Cancer in Haptic Simulator

Soft tissue modeling for the creation of a haptic simulator for training medical skills has been the focus of many attempts up to now. In soft tissue modeling the most important parameter considered is its being real-time, as well as its accuracy and sensitivity. In this paper, ANFIS approach is used to present a nonlinear model for soft tissue. The required data for training the neuro-fuzzy mo...

Hybrid Rendering for Interactive Virtual Scenes

Interactive virtual environments used in conjunction with haptic displays are often staticviewpoint scenes that contain a mixture of static and dynamic virtual objects. The immersive realism of these environments is often limited by the graphical rendering system, typically OpenGL or Direct3D. In order to present more realistic scenes for haptic interaction without requiring additional modeling...

M-Width: Stability and Accuracy of Haptic Rendering of Virtual Mass

In many physical human-robot interaction scenarios, such as haptic virtual environments for training and rehabilitation, it is desirable to carefully control the apparent inertia of a robot. Inertia compensation can be used to mitigate forces felt by the user during free-space motion, and rendering of additional inertia is desired for particular rehabilitation and training procedures. Many fact...

Simulation of Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography Training Simulator with Real-time Breathing Motion

Purpose We present here a simulator for interventional radiology focusing on percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC). This procedure consists of inserting a needle into the biliary tree using fluoroscopy for guidance. Methods The requirements of the simulator have been driven by a task analysis. The three main components have been identified: the respiration, the real-time X-ray display...

Interaction in Distributed Virtual Environments

This course will describe the main challenges faced when building engaging shared virtual environments supporting complex behaviour and interaction, and provide discussions on techniques that can be adopted to support some of these. In order to build such environments, it is necessary to combine high quality graphics, better modes of interaction, rich behavioural simulations and appropriate dis...
